One Night Only 012
Thursday, February 21st, 2008
Ok here is the skinny. Jarrod is having a baby so things are getting very hectic for that right now. He is going to take some Paternity time while they get everything settled in. Till then the comic will be updated twice a week instead of 3 times, so Monday and Friday.
I will be ramping up posting my ramblings though so keep checking back. This will probably be for a few weeks or so. Thanks for understanding. Till then our saga continues.
I sat down to write the blog tonight and something else came out instead. So I guess I will share it. Enjoy…
She Ran Once
By Joshua Ray – 02/21/2008
A little girl once ran from home
In the hopes she could find her way
She walked in darkness all alone
Past the place where she used to play
Down the street where the parish stands
Feeling something around the bend
She’s praying with those tiny hands
But the sidewalk just don’t end
Where did that little girl run
When she set out before the light
Did she ever find the sun?
Did she ever pass the night?
She looked behind her once or twice
Cold air chilling salted tears
She learned the world just isn’t nice
Long before she’d had the years
The road runs ever out before
Through the shadows there untold
Back to the darkened houses door
Where she needed a hand to hold
Where did that little girl run
When she set out before the light
Did she ever find the sun?
Did she ever pass the night?
Is she still walking that same road
Is she still looking for the place
Is she still holding that heavy load
Is she still a mask of a happy face
Where did that little girl run
When she set out before the light
Did she ever find the sun?
Did she ever pass the night?
